New Nocturne Painting
featuring my two
Quarter Horses

This new painting pictures my two quarter horses, Ollie and Echo. A couple years ago there was super moon in the news. I was experimenting with night photography at the time and decided to go out in the middle of the night to see if I could get some interesting pictures. It was fun!

My horses are willing to pose for treats at any time - day or night!

With the current popularity of nocturne paintings, I decided to see what happened if I used the photos for a reference for a painting. What do you think?

If you think the horses look a bit alike, you won't be surprised to learn that Ollie (on the left) is Echo's mother. Echo was born in the little barn in our backyard in 2000.

Upcoming Summer Trips

(Recommendations for horses to visit welcome!)

This summer will be very adventurous!
I'm planning short trips to three of my favorite places:

Denver, Colorado

Fort Worth, Texas

Bend, Oregon

I hope to photograph some horses during my travels for future paintings.
Please email me if you'd like to recommend some beautiful horses to visit near these three destinations!

P.S. Did you know there is a major Monet exhibit coming this summer to Fort Worth? It will be at the Kimbell Art Museum.
Dates are June 16 - September 15, 2019.
