Fiesta Midwest Showcases Andalusian Horses 

Fiesta Midwest 2008, the first Pure Spanish Horse Show in the Midwest, will be held this June 5-7, at the Roberts Arena in Wilmington, Ohio. The show will include classes, seminars, vendors, and a special Exhibition and Dinner Party on Friday night -- all showcasing the Andalusian breed.

Come and watch the truly magnificent Andalusians of our region compete in conformation and performance classes sanctioned by ANCCE.  We are expecting international visitors from Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Mexico and South America!

Laura Amandis is our reputable, fun clinician. She will share her knowledge of horsemanship and trick training like the Bow and Spanish Walk, Passage, Piaffe. Watch her transform horse and rider in an enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere!

Fiesta Midwest will also be the largest annual sales event for the Pure Spanish Horse in this country. Potential buyers can meet the horses in person and see them perform and be evaluated. Buyers will be able to talk to numerous breeders personally about their horses.

Official representatives from the Spanish Stud Book in Spain will offer a Breeders Seminar and the Midwest Pure Spanish Horse Association will offer a Buyers Seminar. The first will educate breeders on maintaining the Spanish breed standards and the second will assist buyers in the selection of their dream horse. A seminar on choosing Spanish tack and attire is also scheduled.

Select treasures from your favorite vendors, we are excited to have two Ohio equestrian artists, sculptor Lynda Sappington and painter Karen Brenner. Stagecoach West, Cashmans, and many other vendors will offer their products for sale.  Wahl Clippers, in conjunction with top grooms in our breed, are offering show clipping demonstrations.

The highlight of the show will be the exciting Friday Evening Exhibition "¡Viva la Vida!" - celebrating the heritage of the Pure Spanish Horse and showcasing the versatility of the breed. The exhibition will include traditional Doma Vaquera, Cobra and Garrocha rides, Dressage exhibitions,and an amazing liberty performance by Laura Amandis and her majestic Andalusian stallion Acierto.

Our dinner party follows the exhibition performance, complete with authentic Spanish and Mexican food, Mariachi band, colorful Flamenco and Folklorico dancers. Come enjoy an evening with fellow horse lovers and dance the night away!
