"Beautiful Horses of Michigan"

A series of paintings by Karen Brenner

Equine artist Karen Brenner is working on her newest series of paintings, "Beautiful Horses of Michigan."

During the first quarter of 2008, Karen invited Michigan horse owners and fans to nominate their favorite horses to be included in the project. Nominations closed March 31, with 98 horses nominate. After reading through the nominations, she noted that all the horses seemed beautiful! With only a week to spend in Michigan photographing the horses in the project, time constraints forced her to only include 34 horses. The list of horses appears to the right of this web page.

The "Beautiful Horses of Michigan" series will include a painting of each selected horse. As each painting is completed it will be posted in a special section of this website. A "Beautiful Horses of Michigan" exhibit will showcase all the paintings. The artist retains ownership of the paintings.

This will be the third in Karen's "Beautiful Horses" series. The "Beautiful Horses of Ohio" and "Beautiful Horses of Texas" series were completed in 2006 and 2007, respectively, and can be viewed on this website.
